Whether you’re joining our platform as a Member seeking companionship or as a Companion making a positive difference in someone’s life, we are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly.

This Privacy Policy explains how SitByCare, Inc. (“SitByCare,” “we,” “our,” or “us“) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit our website, use our mobile applications, communicate with us, or access any of our services (collectively, the “Platform“).

By using the Platform, creating an account, or accessing any SitByCare services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Platform.

2. About SitByCare

SitByCare is an online marketplace that connects individuals and families (“Members“) with independent companions (“Companions“) who offer in-person and virtual companionship services.

Companions on the Platform come from diverse backgrounds and may include students, retirees, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and others who are passionate about providing meaningful companionship. Depending on a Companion’s qualifications, experience, certifications, applicable laws, and a Member’s individual needs, some Companions may also provide certain non-medical support or healthcare-related services where legally permitted and mutually agreed upon between the Member and the Companion.

SitByCare provides the technology platform that enables Members and Companions to discover one another, create profiles, communicate, schedule services, process secure payments, receive booking notifications, exchange reviews, and access other related platform features.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, SitByCare does not employ Companions, supervise the services they provide, or act as a provider of medical, nursing, home healthcare, or professional healthcare services. Services provided through the Platform are offered by independent Companions, who are solely responsible for the services they provide and for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and professional obligations.

3. Definitions

For purposes of this Privacy Policy:

“Member” means any individual or family member who creates an account to search for, communicate with, or book companionship services through the SitByCare Platform.

“Companion” means an independent individual who creates an account to offer companionship or other permitted services through the SitByCare Platform.

“Platform” means the SitByCare website, mobile applications, software, messaging tools, communication features, and all related services operated by SitByCare.

“Services” means all products, features, tools, bookings, communications, payment processing, virtual companionship, in-person companionship, and other services made available through the Platform.

“Personal Information” means any information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked to an identifiable individual, including information you provide directly to us or that we collect through your use of the Platform.

“Booking” means a request for companionship services that is submitted, accepted, scheduled, completed, cancelled, or otherwise managed through the SitByCare Platform.

To provide our services, maintain a safe and trusted community, and improve your experience, SitByCare collects information that you voluntarily provide to us, information generated through your use of the Platform, and certain information collected automatically when you access our Platform.

The information we collect depends on how you use SitByCare and whether you register as a Member or a Companion.

A. Account Information

When you create a SitByCare account, we may collect information including:

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Mobile or telephone number

  • Date of birth

  • Password or other authentication credentials

  • Account type (Member or Companion)

  • Mailing address (if provided)

  • Emergency contact information (if provided)

We use this information to create and manage your account, verify your identity, communicate with you, and provide our services.

B. Profile Information

To help Members and Companions connect, you may choose to create a personal profile.

Depending on your account type, your profile may include:

  • Profile photo

  • Biography or introduction

  • Languages spoken

  • Interests and hobbies

  • Education

  • Professional experience

  • Certifications or licenses

  • Skills and qualifications

  • Hourly rates

  • Availability

  • Service preferences (in-person, virtual, or both)

  • Geographic service area

  • Ratings and reviews

  • Other information you choose to include in your profile

Certain profile information is visible to other users of the Platform so they can make informed booking decisions.

C. Booking & Communication Information

When you use SitByCare, we collect information related to your bookings and interactions on the Platform, including:

  • Booking requests

  • Booking confirmations

  • Appointment dates and times

  • Booking history

  • Cancellation and rescheduling history

  • Messages exchanged through the Platform

  • Booking notes

  • Payment status

  • Reviews and ratings

  • Customer support communications

This information helps us facilitate bookings, improve the user experience, resolve disputes, and provide customer support.

D. Payment Information

When you make or receive payments through SitByCare, payment information is processed through our secure third-party payment providers.

Depending on your use of the Platform, we may collect or receive information such as:

  • Bank account information for Companion payouts (where applicable)

SitByCare does not store complete payment card numbers on our servers. Payment information is processed securely by our authorized payment providers in accordance with applicable security standards.

E. Identity Verification & Background Checks

To help maintain a safe and trusted community, SitByCare may request identity verification or background screening for Companions and, in certain circumstances, Members.

Depending on the verification required, we may collect:

  • Government-issued identification

  • Identity verification information

  • Background screening results

  • Professional licenses or certifications (where applicable)

  • Other information reasonably necessary to verify identity or eligibility to use the Platform

Background checks are generally required before a Companion begins providing services through SitByCare. Verification requirements may change as our Platform and services evolve.

F. Information Collected Automatically

When you access or use the Platform, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Device type

  • Browser type

  • Operating system

  • IP address

  • Device identifiers

  • Pages viewed

  • Features used

  • Date and time of access

  • Approximate location information derived from your device or IP address

We use this information to improve platform performance, maintain security, analyze usage trends, troubleshoot technical issues, and enhance the overall user experience.

A. Create and Manage Your Account

We use your information to create your SitByCare account, verify your identity, manage your profile, authenticate your login credentials, and provide you with access to the Platform.

B. Match Members with Companions

Our Platform uses the information you provide—such as your location, availability, languages spoken, interests, qualifications, services offered, preferences, and profile details—to help Members discover suitable Companions and help Companions receive relevant booking opportunities.

C. Facilitate Bookings

We use your information to process booking requests, schedule companionship services, manage calendars, confirm appointments, communicate booking updates, and maintain booking records.

D. Communicate with You

We may send you important communications related to your account or bookings, including:

  • Booking requests and confirmations

  • Appointment reminders

  • Cancellations and schedule changes

  • Payment confirmations

  • Security alerts

  • Account verification requests

  • Customer support communications

  • Important platform updates

With your permission, we may also send newsletters, promotional offers, product announcements, surveys, and other marketing communications. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.

E. Process Payments

We use your information to securely process payments, issue Companion payouts, process refunds, detect payment errors, and maintain financial transaction records.

F. Verify Identity and Promote Safety

To help maintain a trusted community, we may use your information to verify identities, facilitate background checks, confirm eligibility to use the Platform, investigate reports, enforce our policies, and help protect Members, Companions, and SitByCare from fraud, misuse, or unauthorized activity.

G. Improve Our Platform

We continually work to improve the SitByCare experience. We may analyze how users interact with the Platform to improve our services, enhance search and matching capabilities, develop new features, personalize user experiences, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize platform performance.

H. Prevent Fraud and Protect the Platform

We may use your information to detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, identity theft, unauthorized access, suspicious activity, payment fraud, security incidents, and other activities that may violate our Terms of Service or applicable laws.

I. Provide Customer Support

We use your information to respond to your questions, resolve technical issues, investigate complaints, assist with bookings, process account requests, and provide customer support.

J. Investigate Safety Concerns

If we receive reports involving safety concerns, inappropriate behavior, disputes, policy violations, or other incidents, we may use relevant information to investigate the matter, communicate with affected users, determine appropriate actions, and help maintain a safe and respectful community.

While no system or method of transmitting information over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, we continuously work to maintain a secure and trusted Platform.

A. Encryption

We use industry-standard encryption technologies to help protect sensitive information transmitted through the SitByCare Platform. Data transmitted between your device and our Platform is encrypted using secure communication protocols whenever appropriate.

B. Password Protection

Your account is protected by your password and other authentication measures. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

We recommend choosing a strong, unique password and not sharing your login information with anyone.

C. Secure Payment Processing

SitByCare does not store complete payment card numbers on our servers. Payments, refunds, and Companion payouts are processed through trusted third-party payment providers that maintain industry-standard security practices designed to protect your financial information.

D. Limited Access to Personal Information

Access to personal information is limited to authorized personnel, contractors, and trusted service providers who require access to perform their responsibilities or provide services on behalf of SitByCare.

All individuals with authorized access are expected to protect the confidentiality and security of your information and may only access it for legitimate business purposes.

E. Monitoring & Security Improvements

We regularly monitor our Platform for potential security threats and continually evaluate and improve our security practices as technology and industry standards evolve. We may implement additional security measures from time to time to further protect our users and the integrity of the SitByCare Platform.

F. Your Role in Protecting Your Account

You also play an important role in keeping your information secure. Please keep your password confidential, sign out of shared devices after use, and notify SitByCare immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization or if you notice any suspicious activity.

8. Your Privacy Rights

SitByCare believes you should have meaningful control over your personal information. Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information.

A. Access Your Information

You may request access to the personal information we maintain about you. Subject to applicable law, we will provide you with information about the categories of personal information we collect, how we use it, and with whom it has been shared.

B. Update or Correct Your Information

You can review and update much of your personal information at any time by logging into your SitByCare account and editing your profile or account settings.

Keeping your information accurate helps us provide a better and more secure experience for both Members and Companions.

C. Delete Your Account

You may request to permanently delete your SitByCare account by contacting us or, where available, through your account settings.

Please note that we may retain certain information as required by law, to resolve disputes, detect fraud, enforce our agreements, maintain financial records, or fulfill other legitimate business and legal obligations.

D. Download or Request a Copy of Your Information

Where permitted by law, you may request a copy of the personal information associated with your account in a commonly used electronic format.

E. Marketing Preferences

You may opt out of receiving promotional emails, newsletters, or marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in those communications or by updating your communication preferences within your account.

Please note that even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send important transactional or administrative communications related to your account, bookings, payments, safety, or legal notices.

D. International Users

SitByCare is primarily intended for users located within the United States.
